Ongoing Registration Issue
Lycos is currently aware of a registration issue affecting our products. Users may have difficulty logging in to their account. Planned server maintenance has caused heavy load which is manifesting in slow load times during log in. This can lead to time outs and failed logins including but not limited to: blank pages during login, incorrect username or password messages, slow login time etc. We are working hard to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
For the meantime, users may experience better load times after clearing their cache and cookies.

We are aware that users are still experiencing issues logging in. Lycos is currently experiencing a heavy and malicious attack on its servers that is causing the current symptoms for users. We have identified a possible temporary solution and are working quickly to implement it. We will continue to post further updates here. We again thank you for your immense patience while we work to resolve these issues.
As of 1:00pm EST Lycos has implemented a workaround to the ongoing registration issues we have been experiencing due to the continuous attack on our servers. This attack was mostly targeting the Lycos Mail servers, but its effects were felt throughout our properties. For the time being we have implemented an alternative login flow to our Lycos Mail property, while we implement a more permanent solution. Users logging in to Lycos Mail will be taken to a landing page explaining that we are experiencing issues with our login service and then will be automatically redirected to our secondary login page. You may log in at this page using your full Lycos Mail email address and your standard password.
If for some reason you are getting an incorrect username and password error, please open a ticket with customer support at cshelp.lycos.com.
We sincerely apologize to those of you who have opened tickets with us during this outage. The attack on our servers also affected our ticketing system, making it difficult to impossible to respond to tickets or to update this banner page.
